Global Salon Suites Concept Expands to Liverpool with £1M Renovation

Salon

Phenix Salon Suites, the U.S.-based provider of flexible workspaces for hair and beauty professionals, is set to expand into Liverpool. This follows the company’s introduction to Europe with its first site in Manchester in 2021.

Phenix Salon Suites offers entrepreneurs the opportunity to establish and grow their own brands within a central city location. The brand operates over 400 sites across the United States.

The new Liverpool location, situated in the historic Corn Exchange Building on Fenwick Street, spans 6,500 square feet and features 35 newly renovated suites, a project valued at £1 million. Each suite is equipped with high-quality amenities including salon chairs or beauty beds, backwash or spa sinks, cupboards, and trolleys. Additional features include 24-hour access, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and kitchen and laundry facilities. Tenants have the flexibility to fully customize their suites to suit their needs.

John Gillespie, UK Managing Director and a globally recognized hair expert, remarked, “Phenix Salon Suites has been built on a passion for driving positive change within the hair and beauty industry.” He noted that while the concept is relatively new to the UK, its success in the U.S. indicates a strong demand for innovative solutions for hair and beauty professionals. Gillespie highlighted that, unlike traditional salon rentals, Phenix offers professionals the autonomy to manage their own business while gaining essential skills for success.

Liverpool, known for its vibrant beauty industry and abundant talent, is seen as an ideal location for this expansion. The new site is Phenix’s fourth UK opening since 2021, following Manchester, Birmingham, and Nottingham. The company is also planning further openings in Newcastle and Derby.

Phenix Salon Suites provides rental periods as short as one month and offers tenants business mentoring, seminars, and an immersion program to support business growth. The concept was launched by Gina Rivera, a renowned haircare entrepreneur and creator of the new beauty line Gina Xoxo, who previously appeared on Channel 4’s Undercover Boss.
